Baseball - Tom Glavine, Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez and Craig Biggio reached all the milestones - Part 1
Posted by: Mr.Baseball in Baseball Articles, tags: Baseball, Biggio, Bonds, Glavine, milestones, reached, RodriguezIt had been a year of milestones for Major League Baseball.
By Tom Glavine to Barry Bonds to Alex Rodriguez to Craig Biggio the records are piling up like chips in a big tournament.
Tom Glavine of the New York Mets probably most prestigious record so far, scoring his 300th career win on August 5, 2007 with a 8-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs Lou Piniella in an away game in Wrigley Field.
The historic victory this year was 10th Glavineagainst 6 losses.
Glavine won 242 victories, pitching 16 seasons with the Atlanta Braves, and has spent the 58 last to arrive after New York Mets as a free agent in 2003 won. It is in its 21st season and is one of the most successful pitchers in the National League baseball. It is five times winner of 20 games and twice the Cy Young Award and earned one of only 23 pitchers in Major League history to 300 career victories. It is also only 5 º Left-handers among the 23 300-gameWinners. It joins an elite group that includes Warren Spahn (363 wins), Steve Carlton (329), Eddie Plank (326), and Lefty Grove (300).
Glavine is a lock to be a Hall of Fame when he retired. He was also excellent, a long introduction and awareness of the pitcher. The 41-year-old left-handed Lefty Grove and Early Winn will give us a list of all time because they both had exactly 300 wins when he retired.
In addition to Tom Glavine and Early Winn, Cans, 300 career victories haveSince 1958, including Warren Spahn, Roger Clemens, Greg Maddux, Steve Carlton, Nolan Ryan, Don Sutton, Phil Niekro, Gaylord Perry and Tom Seaver.
Besides Lefty Grove, the old rabbit Cy Young, Walter Johnson, Grover Alexander, Christy Mathewson, Pud Galvin, Kid Nichols, Tim Keefe, John Clarkson Eddie Plank, Charles Radbourne and Mickey Welch.
Nobody will be able to record 511 career wins by Cy Young. Walter Johnson had 417, and every other pitcher has between 300 and373.
Oldest modern pitchers are on the list, as used in the early days of baseball teams, a two-man pitching rotation that is much more classic car shows and many other opportunities to notch 300 victories.
Modern tag team with 4 or 5 man pitching rotation, and the arrival of specialists, such as the installation are) men (entries 7 and
and closer (to the passage 9 meant that today less Sign pitchers entries.
Speculation is now successfullyif any other player (right or left turn) will be able to reach 300 career victories. Smart money is in 44 years, Randy Johnson, the 284 wins and a problem that does not disappear. Nobody else is even remotely close.
After Johnson won in his career Mike Mussina (is 247), David Wells (235), Jamie Moyer (227) and Curt Schilling (213). Record of 300 career victories, a sure ticket to the Hall of Fame Baseball. One reason Glavine scored 300 victories, is(Longevity 21 seasons and still pitch), and the other is that he never was surprisingly wounded and disabled in the list.
